A truly red letter day.

A few words of explanation for Withered. It was the summer circa 1975, the family had visited Chicago for the first Star Wars movie and the King Tut exhibit at the Field Museum. We took a walk along the large square-cut rocks along Lake Michigan's shore and spotted this inscription in big bold letters on one of the biggest. Was it a joke or someone's last words to their dumped lover? We thought it should be seen by more people and so it graced a tee shirt worn for many years. What did the viewers who saw us hand in hand think? No one offered condolences. Were we the only ones who cared?

VanTrippin was a little frustrated with finding a place to park.   circa 2005.

"If there is no place to park, it isnt worth going there."

"I am Shiva, the god of death."   Said Tom Wilkenson  in a brilliant performance as Arthur Edens in the excellent movie  Michael Clayton.
